  •  GE Overhauls Board, Dumps Longest Serving Directors, Names Three Outsiders: Announcement comes as federal regulators are examining GE’s accounting practices. The new board candidates are H. Lawrence Culp, 54 years old, the former CEO of Danaher Corp., Thomas Horton, 56, former head of American Airlines, and Leslie Seidman, 55, former chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Board. The board changes will be voted on by shareholders at GE’s annual meeting in April.Eight directors are retiring from the board in the reshuffling, while lead director Jack Brennan, former head of mutual-fund giant Vanguard Group, will step down next year after being on the board since 2012.The directors stepping down include Qualcomm Inc. CEO Steve Mollenkopf and former Securities and Exchange Commission chief Mary Schapiro.
