Yum China Rejects Private Buyout Offer at $46 a Share
The offer from a consortium led by Hillhouse Capital valued the company at over $17 billion, Yum China licenses the KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell brands in China and operates nearly 8,200 restaurants across more than 1,200 Chinese cities. The company was spun off from Yum Brands Inc. in 2016 and describes itself as China’s largest restaurant company, with as many as 460,000 employees.
